It is filled with unbleached, undyed, pesticide-free ORGANIC COTTON and covered with an easy-to-clean 100% Polyethylene food grade waterproof surface. Polyethylene is an environmentally friendly plastic used for its purity and non-toxic properties. The polyethylene cover provides the ultimate non-toxic waterproof and stain resistant mattress cover, while eliminating the need for a dust mite barrier cover, since it is already hypoallergenic.
This "Classic" mattress has a non-organic cotton/polyethylene cover, as compared to the Ultra mattress, which has an organic one. Both the classic and ultra Naturepedic mattresses are filled with organic cotton.

Air-Core is a non-toxic environmentally friendly support layer made from 100% food-grade polyethyelene. Air-Core is a network of closed cell air pockets that provide a firm and comfortable base without the toxic properties of polyurethane foam and the allergenic concerns of latex rubber.
